?Looking For A Job? Read This 1 Poem!!?

The Jobseekers Poem.

Being a job seeker isn’t easy,

Deciding what to apply for next...

And CV’s have to be friendly,

Towards the ATS!

Then, there’s all the applications,

That we never hear back from,

It makes us begin,

To wonder why,

They don’t see us as,

“The One”...

I’ve been there a while now,

The effort, the interviews,

And then it feels,

Like, again, you lose,

When you’re the one,

They didn’t choose,

..Especially when it’s a role,

You’re really passionate about,

It’s very hard to hear...

I for one, have sometimes,

Applied.., been told “no”,

..Shed a tear…

It’s not only all the time spent applying,

But the effort put in too...

Both these things and more,

-If we’re lucky enough,

To even, GET the interview...

So many, including myself,

Often haven’t got to that stage..

And some jobs,

Don’t even say, in the advert,

“We pay below minimum wage”...

Scrolling down the list of jobs,

That fill the computer screen,

We often wonder, why.. ..

Why, can’t we just,

..Feel seen?

And have...

One chance to prove,

We can do it, again,

A chance, to prove ourselves,

As talented employees,

Like before redundancies..

We don’t want to be ‘left on the shelves!'

When we had a job,

We were given a chance,

We tried.. and tried our best,

Even when there were many times,

That put our knowledge and skills,

To the test...

So many times, I’ve applied,

And felt like I’ve met my match,

Sometimes, it’s seemed,

“ Too good to be true” (potential scammers),

And I’ve realised,

There’s a catch!!!

It’s so important to be aware,

With so many scams around,

To make sure you’re not getting caught out,

That companies,

You apply to,

Are sound.

Some of us begin to wonder,

If we should start our own thing...

An online business, for example,

Would surely,

Definitely,

Bring…

Lots of passion,

And new ideas,

And things,

That we can learn..

An exciting way, to do something,

We love,

With a potential, to earn...

(After lots of hard work!)

While building upon skills,

We already have,

And learning,

Ones, that are new,

The whole job search situation,

Is making an awful lot of us,

Feel blue…

So I wanted to share this poem I wrote,

With you all today,

Because there’s something,

I want to let you know,

Something I want to say...

The job search isn’t sunshine and flowers,

It isn’t that, at all!

It can go on,

For many months, years and hours,

It can make you feel,

Like such,

A fool…

But a new job,

Might just be, around the corner now,

Or maybe, you’ll start your own brand...

Whichever you choose,

There are many on LinkedIn,

To offer a helping hand...

(In the way of advice & tips, etc)

Even if you choose to do both...

I’m sure that we’ll agree…

You have to do,

What’s best, for you,

And I need to do,

What’s best for me.

I hope you’re all alright,

Out there,

And if you’ve read to here,

This poem’s coming to an end now,

But, I want to give you all a cheer…

To cheer you on and say,

I hope things work out for you...

And when they do,

Perhaps you’d like to share this poem,

With someone else, who,

Really needs it too...
