Well hey there, it’s great to see you here as we take the next step in developing those origin stories we’ve been working on over the past few weeks.
If you’ve been with me on this journey over the past few weeks then hopefully you have started constructing a very strong origin story that you can use to not only attract new individuals to your team, but also captivate an audience with your tale of how you got to where you are today.
Even though we’ve covered a lot of bases, there are still some important elements to a great origin story that we haven’t covered, so buckle up and get ready, because before you know it we’re going to be wrapping up our origin story series.
Last time, I talked about an important aspect that you need to remember, about how you want to show all the different elements to your story in the format of a hero’s journey rather than just defining them at the beginning of your tale.
Today I want to talk about another small detail that makes all the difference in helping distance a great origin story from a good origin story.

You see, often times the origin story is thought of as something that gets wrapped up with a nice bow on top. While that may be true in televised portrayals of the hero’s journey when the hero returns from their grand quest changed for the better, that isn’t the case here.
Your origin story shouldn’t end with big conclusion that remains in the past. You want your origin story to paint a clear picture for the future as well.
Don’t just explain how things have changed from when you started out facing this insurmountable object, explain how you’ve been changed going forward and how you’ve used the things you’ve learned to make the future great for everyone on board.
Your origin story shouldn’t just highlight what has gone wrong and how you’ve remedied it. It should also give the person you’re telling it to hope for the future, hope that if they follow you on this journey, the future is bright.
So give that some thought this week, The Culture Junky sure will. Be good to each other out there
