Looking Forward to Tomorrow: Today's Finances Give Me Options!

What are the two greatest causes of stress in most working people's lives? Some say it is Time Management and Money Management. Personally, over the years working as a Project Manager and a Coach I have got better with Time Management but I have a long way to go with Money Management.

The million dollar question I have been asked is how do you find the time to be involved with the Project Management community, non-profit organizations like Toastmasters International and Rotary International, local community activities & more! My response is: By prioritizing what's important to ME in each season of your life and focusing on the activities aligned to that vision.

At the PMI New Jersey Chapter - Symposium 2024

It was important for me to be able to meet other passionate project managers who were keen on learning and growing as a leader. I met a few of them earlier this month at the PMINJ Symposium 2024. My advice to you: Surround yourself with positive influencers!

In October 2023, I had the privilege to be the Keynote Speaker at one of the Monthly Chapter events and it was great to know that many in the room watched me speak and their life has been transformed. If you have not yet watched the recording, check out the archives on pminj.org and you might find value it it too.

Who are you surrounding yourself with and how are you managing your time?

Last time I wrote about putting your dream to the test, especially if it has no chance of becoming a reality. After much thought and reflection, I have decided to pursue a new career with New York Life on a Fast Track Partner Program.

I am getting the rigorous training and obtaining the necessary licenses to offer the best financial advice and resources available for retirement planning, long term care, disability insurance & more. This will help me get better with Money Management as well.

I wondered what will give me the energy to believe, plan, study, decide, prepare, begin, work, save, listen, smile, commend and persist. That's the passion question!

I have a passion to help others live their life to the fullest and reach their potential, that is why I developed my skills as a Public Speaker and have been speaking at various organizations. It gives me great pleasure to share with you that we are getting ready to charter our first Toastmasters Club in PMINJ Chapter. The Open House on 20th May was a success - click on this link to watch it for yourself!

It was great to speak at a local Rotary Club and share insights about generational diversity - how are we leading the way and are we having a sense of curiosity and humility to learn from the younger generation.

Every week I have the opportunity to spend time with friends who matter, I walk with a few of them and play badminton with a few others. These are ways I reduce stress in my life.

The question that I have for you is: What steps are you taking to reduce stress in your life. What are the two greatest causes of stress for you at this time?

One area that I have now started focusing on is Money Management.

Did you know that the difference between the rich and the poor is that the rich invest their money and spend what's left, while the poor spend their money and invest what's left.

My goal is to help educate myself and those I serve on how to live a life where my finances give me better options. Last month I started my new journey, studying for two exams for Life Producer and Accident & Health Producer license. In less than 2 weeks, I was able to pass both of these and I am already getting ready to take my next SIE (Securities Industry Essentials) exam next month.

In "Today Matters", I read that: Having money may not make you happy, but owning money is sure to make you miserable. Having a financial margin gives you options. The bottom line is that money is nothing but a tool, it is good for helping one achieve goals.

With a great mentor who is FOR me... teaching me how to "super-serve" others!

One of my short term goals is to become one of the best Financial Agent and a Partner with NYL and I am going to STRIVE (my word for the year 2024) for Excellence in whatever I do next.

My mission: Be Challenged & Lead On!

Stay connected and I would love to share more about what I can now do for you with the additional resources I have with my new role as a Licensed Agent of NYL.

I want to challenge you to work hard and maintain an attitude of gratitude, you'll find it easier to manage your finances every day. Let your Finances give you Options!

Next time I will share with you how you can develop and follow a personal growth plan for your life. I started on my own personal growth journey 5 years ago and I love the impact it has had on many lives, as I live a life of significance!
