GSMA Ministerial Programme - Ministerial Stage

Leading figures in the digital domain will convene on the Ministerial Stage to address today’s most pressing digital policy topics such as digital inclusion, responsible AI, energy efficiency, infrastructure investment and fraud prevention.

What about the other half? - Monday, 3 March / 14:30 - 15:45 CET?

This session will explore the current state of mobile internet connectivity, highlighting the latest data and insights on the usage gap. Experts will discuss the key barriers that must be addressed, including device affordability, digital skills, and relevant content and services. The discussion will also examine the economic impact of closing the usage gap, with industry leaders outlining strategies to prevent an expanding digital divide.

A lifeline for the displaced - Wednesday, 5 March / 11:45 - 13:00 CET?

This session will highlight the importance of connectivity for people impacted by crises, and the Global Connectivity for Refugees Initiative. The initiative mobilises the expertise, resources, and investment needed to ensure all major refugee hosting areas have available and affordable connectivity by 2030, advancing the digital inclusion of more than 20 million people forced to flee and their hosts.??

GSMA Ministerial Programme - Focus Stage

The more intimate Focus Stage will feature interactive sessions with subject matter experts on issues such as mobile use by young people, the mobile gender gap, and mobile money, among others.

The currency of change - Tuesday, 4 March / 11:45 - 12:30 CET?

By 2023, mobile money transaction values had grown beyond forecasts by at least 30%. This session will explore the impact of mobile money on GDP, the use cases driving this impact and how this can transform businesses in countries with a mobile money service.
