Looking Forward by Looking Back

Looking Forward by Looking Back

Back in July of this year I wrote a somewhat different (for me) article outlining several TRUTHS I saw about the presidential election. Now that it is all but over, I took another look at what I said and want to share some conclusions with you. Again, I will try my best to stay out of the political weeds and concentrate instead on the facts and TRUTHs that are now obvious to me.

I started this list by stating “I believe that there is now little question on a few basic facts concerning the race for President.” Here are the original points and my conclusions today:

1. President Joe Biden has some serious cognitive problems that are all now quite apparent to almost everyone, despite efforts to explain certain things as “cheap fakes” or disinformation by the media and the Biden camp. This proved to be the downfall of Joe Biden. His party found a way to get him out of the race and to insert someone else they felt had a better chance of defeating Trump. I must continue to question, even in his last days in office, if he should have been allowed to remain the President.

2.?????? After careful checking among many different sources, former President Trump has either grossly overstated several points, or told outright lies, but so did Biden. They needed to stick to the facts and not belittle each other. This continued right through the last days of the campaign and to this day. Biden’s replacement was worse, I believe, with the lies and deceit that President Biden. She flipped-flopped and changed her positions and accent to fit the audience she was in front of but retained a highly Liberal belief through it all.

3.?????? It is very difficult discerning TRUTH from either of the top candidates. Their focus has been more on division than bringing people together to solve our serious problems. The TRUTH is we can, as a nation, find ways to come together and solve our problems. Again, this was true of Harris. It is my hope and prayer that this will change now!

4. We have a serious problem with our sovereignty and the protection of our borders. This was a campaign issue (2nd next to the economy) and one that Trump ran on extensively. He now has a clear mandate to FIX the border. My greatest concern are what to do with the millions of illegal immigrants that are here now and how do we continue to protect ourselves in the coming days. I believe that mass deportation is not the answer.

5. Hunter’s laptop has now been proven to be true and authentic. Just because the elections are over does not mean that this issue should not be pursued. We have an obligation to the future to fully know what has happened and how, and those who broke the law (even a past president) should be prosecuted to the fullest if they broke the law.

6. Inflation is real, and we are all feeling it at the grocery store, the gas pumps, and in our everyday lives. The deficit is real and is only growing more by the day. Finger pointing and lies are not solving these problems. This was the number one issue in the election, and it was the belief that Trump could fix it that got him, I believe, elected. This is another clear mandate.

7. Our democracy is threatened. ?I think that the mandate given Trump proves that this is not true, but there is still potential in the days and months ahead that we the people must watch carefully.

8.?? I have written before about abortion, and my position stands. This topic was talked about a lot during the campaigns but did not apparently have the impact anticipated. Perhaps the divide is not as great as I thought.

9. The election of a president should be fair. The lack of controversy and violence was impressive and speaks to the TRUTH of Democracy. The transition of power is yet to be determined but my belief is that it will go well.

10. Another TRUTH is that war is wrong. This was another promise of Trump that will be difficult to resolve. We must find ways of ending the wars in the world and of establishing peace as our foundation.

Finally, I continue to believe that what I do tomorrow counts, not what I did yesterday. I will continue to seek TRUTH and do my part to use TRUTH to help make life better. What occurs over the next few months is critical for our future.? We start with a clear mandate of the people, a broad cross-section of all our people, to change the ways things are going and to choose a new path. Several TRUTHS are apparent:

1.?????? We must deal with the crises at our boarder and stem the flow of illegal immigrants. We must also fix our immigration problems. And we must find ways of protecting our people from the many bad elements that entered our country illegally.

2.?????? We must lower inflation, bring down costs, and make life, in general, more affordable. Government must become smaller while maintaining programs and services that are essential.

3.?????? There will be critics and those who lost in the elections that will continue to try and stir things up. We cannot allow this to happen. Most people do not believe in, and will not support, these radical agendas, but this will not stop all the fractions from trying. We can try to find common ground, but we should not give up our principles or the clear direction in which we are now headed.

4.?????? The best people possible should be tapped to fill key leadership positions in our government. We must begin the process of removing career bureaucrats and those who are not representing the will of the people. We must reduce the size of government, make it more efficient, and focus it on accomplishing great things.

5.?????? There will be differences still in Congress and we should have healthy debates, but in the end, they must come together and support what is best for the nation.

All these things can happen if we put aside our differences and unite, seeking TRUTH in the world today. I would like to hear your thoughts. Please comment below or reach out to me directly.
