Looking Down
Today's devotional is from What Would Jesus Ask You Today?
"Or why do you look down on your brother" - Romans 14:10.
Pride is a dangerous attitude to have, for it attracts God's attention and, if not dealt with, God's involvement to temper it. When you look down on someone, it's because you believe you are "above" them in some way—smarter, wiser, richer, more spiritual. That's pride, pure and simple. And that is never a good position to be in, for you can "fall down" at any time, especially if God sets a trap to catch you in your pride.
Do you see yourself as superior or better than some people? If they are in the church, do you avoid them or talk about them when they're absent? Read James 2:1-13 and search your heart to see if you have indeed looked down on others.
