Looking back on the rise of the Human workplace

Looking back on the rise of the Human workplace

Ok, so the jury’s still out on the open office. And our tech definitely makes it hard to have time off, but the 2010s have utterly shifted the look, feel and mission of corporate life—for the better!

I’d go so far as to call 2010s the #humandecade!

The success of my book Bring Your Human to Work (McGraw-Hill 2018) is one sure sign, but there are so many more. Heed these top ten headlines from the past decade and your business will be ready for 2020 and beyond.

1. Firefighters who eat together save more lives

2. Having a best friend at work is good for business

3. Putting your phone away strengthens relationships

4. Diversity is a way of being, not a box check

5. Employees love (and leave) managers, not companies

6. Flexibility isn’t just for yoga classes

7. Every generation needs to work well with others

8. Mental health at work is the new corporate wellness

9. Everyone needs purpose at work, not just millennials!

10. The key to success is to honor relationships in work and in life

Here's to bringing our human to work in the next decade!

I like putting your phone away strengthens relationships. We think that just having the phone by us in meetings face down is ok but we're thinking about it if its in the room.? You gotta just separate from the phone when you get into the meeting and things will be ok!
