Looking Back: My Journey Through Database Systems

Looking Back: My Journey Through Database Systems

I have worked with many different database systems over the years. Each one taught me something new and helped me grow. Here is a simple story of my experience.

Starting Out: FoxPro and Oracle

I began with FoxPro, an older database system that some people may not have heard of. This system helped me learn the basics of databases. Later, I moved to Oracle and learned how to handle bigger and more complex data.

Projects in 2006: MS Access and SQL Server

In 2006, I worked on a project using MS Access for a Reid and Taylor Retail Shop application. This project taught me how to work with a user-friendly database. Around the same time, I also worked on a short project with SQL Server for the Election Commission. This project showed me how important it is to keep data safe and accurate. I still remember the great times with friends like amit kumar and Amit Verma . do you remember those days?

Learning New Systems

After these projects, I used SQL Server again for an East Coast project. I then started using MySQL with a Java project at Viaedge Software Technologies (I) Pvt. Limited .

fondly recall working with friends and team members such as JEETENDRA MANDAL , Amit Kumar and Ravi Ranjan . Do remember those days?

Later, I used SQLite for storing states for the backend and FTP client, which I made in Syncquick Software Pvt, Ltd. . Working with these systems helped me learn how to use different tools for different tasks.

Manish kumar and Deepak Kumar I hope you remember those days as well!!

Storing Mobile App Data Offline

While working with Mobien Technology(Later Renamed Invasystems Inc ) , I also learned how to store mobile app state and transaction details when the internet was not present. This experience taught me how to build mobile apps that work reliably even when users are offline.

I also learnt a lot of my mentors such as Vinay Bhide , Varad Thakur , Nilesh Chavan and Pankaj Dimble and many more. They were amazing mentors, colleagues, and later became friends. Their guidance and support made a big difference in my journey.

More Challenges: ATM Systems

I later worked with SQL Server and SQL Warehouse in the ATM industry using 迪堡 . This work was important because it kept financial transactions safe and reliable.

I worked with some awesome colleague to solve and build SaaS campaign office platform. Bharath Karnati , Kshitij Chaudhari , Ishtiyaq Ahmed Badra , Kairan Rangwala and many more.

MongoDB Certification in 2014

In 2014, I earned a MongoDB certification to learn more about NoSQL databases. This helped me understand new ways of storing and managing data.

Working with Microsoft Technologies

At Microsoft , I used Azure SQL and Cosmos DB on many projects. These cloud-based databases are powerful and can handle a lot of data. They helped me learn how to work with modern, scalable systems.

A New Experiment: Google Firebase in 2021

In 2021, I did a proof-of-concept project with Google Firebase. This project was a chance to explore how cloud-based databases can be used in real-time applications.

Conclusion

In conclusion, my journey through various database systems has been a continuous learning experience filled with memorable projects, supportive mentors, and fantastic colleagues. Each technology—from FoxPro and Oracle to Google Firebase—brought new challenges and valuable lessons that helped shape my career. I’m grateful for the friendships and insights shared along the way, and I look forward to tackling future challenges with the same passion and curiosity. I invite you to share your own experiences and memories in the comments—let’s continue the conversation and learn together.
