Looking Back, Mulling, Reconsidering
Make Today Count
"I would have lost heart, unless I had believed That I would see the goodness of the LORD In the land of the living. " -Psalm 27:13
I have a challenge for my young local heroes, so engaged in our city and every city who are driven by the passion of gospel that has deep implications for the poor, marginalized, and oppressed: Start raising up some among you to run for office.
Build coalitions, raise funds, and speak at every meeting where kingdom issues are addressed.
We need your voices and your leadership. My generation is stuck in a rut of old ideas and biases. All we can come up with are clichés and repackaged prejudice. You think with fresh minds.
This is your day. Take it.
Thoughts from November 10 Through Recent Years
If they meant something then, maybe they will prompt a thought now. Some are words and some are images.
"I very rarely think in words at all. A thought comes, and I may try to express it in words afterwards." -Albert Einstein
What we do with our thoughts, ideas, and insights is entirely up to us.
We can think them, express them, ponder them, and act on them. We can also let them die. We could always put them aside an d come back to them.
It is a matter of choice and discretion.
Remember: Things can happen very quickly.
?
I have been there!
Now, while you will still be you years later, you will also be much more.
Here is the rest that was truncated:
I wonder what I would tell this kid if I met him in some time-warped, celestial vestibule during a meet and greet.
?Could I tell him anything?
?Or should I just play dumb and let him figure it out as best he could ... which ...
I suppose he did.
?Would you actually try to tell your younger self anything if you had the chance?
I just therw that one in.

What if it had never become more than an idea?
Were you an early adopter?
Are you generally an early adopter?
What difference has that made for you?
Pause to remember.
?These days mean something. They trigger something.
Here is the untruncated version:
Born this day in 1779 – Anne-Marie Javouhey, French nun, founder of the Sisters of St Joseph of Cluny.
?As a teen, she helped to hide and care for a number of priests persecuted by the French Revolution.
?She founded the Institute of Saint Joseph of Cluny.
?She opened missionary work in Senegal, Gambia, Sierra Leon, the Reunion Islands, and Guiana.
?She founded a leper colony, participated in the emancipation of slaves, developed agricultural communities, survived a plot to kill her, and created schools for children.
?Big ideas make a difference, but lived lived, day by day, are what really count. Like this one:
I have tried many idea and many have failed.
Yet, some have succeeded!
What if I had never tried anything?
I actually preached on this scripture Sunday.
Learn from every experience.?
Take pictures and take action!
What are your take-aways today?

2 年Well unless I misunderstood I kind of got the impression that this was definitely due to the picture that I'm looking at and also the wording that was used that you guys are focusing on you call them young Heroes well I'm 55 will be 56 my next birthday so I don't necessarily consider myself Young I'm stepping back into the second round or last chapter of my life but second round in the leadership speaking coaching teaching training world after a pretty big break of about 15 years. So I'm not sure if your perspective is quite up to Snuff for guys like me. I mean there are plenty of people my age that are having to literally having to change careers because of the way Corporate America is now. So you got a lot of men and women in my age bracket that are going through things that they've never gone through before and they've got great experience great leadership you know the ones that have been successful of course and have a need I mean it's not honestly it's not easy finding a good job that's not a job but it's a career move. I was in Mexico prior to 2008 since I've been here in the US it has been one sucking experience!!! I want TO go BACK to L.A.
