Looking Back to Move Forward: Lessons from 2024
2024 is nearly over, and I’ve found myself reflecting on a year that’s been full of challenges, both personal and professional. It’s also been a year shaped by global events that have deeply affected so many. I know I’m not alone when I say this year has been tough in ways that tested our resilience and patience, and my heart goes out to everyone who has struggled or have faced profound losses.
In thinking about what carried me through the difficult moments of 2024, I’ve realized that the Emotional Intelligence (EQ) skills I’ve worked hard to build over the years have been my greatest allies. Resilience, self-awareness, and empathy have kept me going through the many times I stumbled and fell and through the days when it felt so overwhelming I did not think I would be able to get back up. But EQ became my guide and helped me navigate through experiences and challenges that I thought were insurmountable.
I also didn’t get through this year alone. To my family and friends, thank you for being there, for your understanding, compassion, and patience. To my colleagues and collaborators, your support and expertise have made such a difference. And to those I’ve had the privilege of working with in my workshops and training programmes, thank you for your trust and for sharing your insights so generously. Each of you has helped me reflect and grow in ways I deeply appreciate.
So, as we approach 2025, I’m choosing to carry the lessons of this year forward: resilience in the face of challenges, adaptability of thinking and perspective, and the enduring power of connection.
To everyone reading this, thank you for being part of my 2024 journey. Wishing you a holiday season filled with rest and reflection—and a 2025 full of growth, joy, and opportunity.

2 个月So beautiful. Thank you Lefki. I came across this recently which I try to embrace as a guide, not a criticism: ‘I walk backwards into the future with my eyes fixed on the past’ (Maori proverb) Thank you for being in my life
