Looking back on 2023

A very happy holiday season to this community! I hope your holidays have been filled with family, friends, delicious food, rest, and, of course, a good book. :)

As 2023 comes to an end, my team and I reflected on everything we achieved at Fable over the last 12 months. It’s a valuable exercise to remember where you started and where months of hard work have led you. As you plan ahead for the new year, considering your recent successes (and, yes, reviewing any failures) will help you think through opportunities to explore and improvements to make.?

I’m thrilled to say 2023 was, on the whole, an incredibly successful year for Fable. Here’s a quick video we put together to share some of those successes!

A few of the accomplishments I’m most proud of:

• We launched the Fable For You feed! This was a major effort that transformed Fable from a platform where clubs discussed books in silos into a vibrant social platform where Fable users can meet like-minded readers, discover new titles, talk, and share memes about books with one another. The For You feed has made Fable an app I have a hard time putting down, and so many of our users agree.

• We created a special feed for the most popular book of 2023, “Iron Flame.” This was a dedicated space for readers of Rebecca Yarros’ blockbuster books “Fourth Wing” and “Iron Flame” to obsess about these stories together. Complete with beautiful art, quotes, and a quiz that let you create your own unique dragon, this was one of the most fun projects we worked on this year.?
• Our product took another leap forward with new features like reading streaks, a mood quiz to help readers figure out what to read next, and digital tabs to let readers mark up their ebooks with as much creativity as they do print books.?

• We released Reading Wraps, an opportunity for everyone to share the books they read in the past month (and, as of last week, year!). It’s a wonderful and fun way to track and share your reading. Here is my 2023 Reading list and my Top 5 books for 2023. You can create yours on Fable.

All in all, it was a banner year for Fable, and I’m so proud of my team and the product we’re creating. We have some big plans in store for 2024, so I hope you’ll join us as we write the next chapter in reading together. :)?
