Looking back at 2021… what a year for Rivery!

2021 has been an amazing year for Rivery. We kicked off the year with full force with a fresh round of funding led by Entree Capital, exciting news about becoming Snowflake Premiere Technology Partner, a new look with a major rebrand to update our visual identity.

It has been a rollercoaster ride. In spite of the Covid variants that still impact our lives and routines, Rivery’s team raised above and continued to deliver innovation and top performance across all fronts. I am so lucky and grateful to everyone in the team - their work, dedication, and camaraderie is the real engine behind our growth.

Before we start the new year with recharged batteries and a new wave of energy, I want to take a moment to reflect on all that we have accomplished in the past twelve months. It is not only a celebration of achievements and milestones, but a tribute to a team which truly stepped-up its game as the company shifted to hyper growth mode.

1. Exceeding customer expectations

Our customers are our biggest fans and we couldn’t be more proud of this. So many new business opportunities arrive from their enthusiasm and their willingness to recommend rivery. We work really hard to provide an ‘unusually’ personalized level of service and support - and we want to keep it that way as we grow.?

We see our customers as colleagues who are as passionate about data as we are. Some of them including NEXT, Lightricks and Tomorrow.io even shared how Rivery is helping them shape and improve their data management processes - so a huge thanks for being our loyal partners and for continuously pushing us to deliver first-class product innovation and service.

2. Growing teams, opening new locations, and scaling operations

Our team has more than doubled in size over the course of 2021, and our customer base has tripled. We have opened up new offices in Austin and soon we will have a physical presence in Europe too.?

Bringing the best people at all levels and across all business divisions will always be at the top of our priorities - our culture and our team’s DNA is what will help us tackle 2022 challenges and opportunities with a kick ass team. The addition of Thibaut Ceyrolle to our board has also been a crucial milestone to help us shape the right teams and infrastructure to radically expedite our growth in 2022.

3. Putting partners at the heart of our business

We are on a mission to assert Rivery as a core operational engine of every data stack, and know we can’t do this alone. The interdependencies and compatibility between tools and platforms in a modern data stack is often critical.?

Offering customers ready made solutions such as Rivery Kits is a game-changer - we are able to offer pre-engineered data models specifically crafted for their data stack. Working hand in hand with tech partners to create bespoke Kits for Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, Google, Tableau, Looker, and Anodot in 2021 has made us truly understand the power of joining forces to deliver customer-facing solutions that are exponentially better and simpler for them.

4. Focus on product-led growth

2021 from a product standpoint has been defined by two major launches: Rivery Kits and Self-Service. Rivery kits is one of the most ambitious projects to date: sharing pre-designed data models so any Rivery user can either deploy it instantly or adjust it to their needs. Having access to a repository of expertly engineered data workflows is empowering data and BI teams with independence to explore data with less reliance on help from R&D. What’s more it’s empowering any business with tried and tested data models for the most common data challenges.

On the other hand, shifting to a self-service approach is another way for us to remove any unnecessary barriers between anyone who’d like to try Rivery. Offering a self-service, pay-as-you-go alternative has already proven successful since it was launched in November - and nothing makes us happier than witnessing new teams and companies gaining straight access to our full product suite (including Kits!), so they can connect to their data warehouse and data sources in a few clicks - and begin creating, automating, and optimizing all their data pipelines and workflows.?

What’s in store for 2022?

In a nutshell, growth. All of the above are our foundation to make sure we have the product, the team, and the infrastructure to scale faster. We have huge product news coming in 2022 and I can’t wait to share them with all our partners and customers.

In the meantime, I hope everyone gets a chance to rest, spend time with your loved ones and take a break. Thanks to the whole Rivery team, our customers, our partners, and everyone who made 2021 such a special year.Here’s to an amazing 2022!
