Looking ahead to the future of the accounting profession and CPA talent pipeline
The accounting profession is crucial to society. We provide trust, transparency and confidence in information that moves our capital markets. The role of accountants and CPAs is continuously evolving and we need to do our part in ensuring the talent pipeline and workforce grows along with it. This is an important conversation, and I couldn’t think of a better person to engage with on this than my fellow partner, Noel Bowers .
As accountants, we speak the language of business – and are key to their success! Our work goes hand-in-hand with accountability. It makes society better and enables people to make really important decisions. It's why as leaders in the profession, we have a responsibility to engage with the next generation of professionals and showcase all of the possibilities and career opportunities an accounting profession can provide. The power of suggestion is real. After all, both Noel and I were influenced by people in our own lives to pursue accounting!

Accounting is a great profession and it is more than just debits and credits. This profession has the ability to shape the future on how we think about the accounting for transactions and their related disclosures. As a result, this could impact financial results and economics for many industries that investors rely on. In my view, it is the accountant that creates the foundation for supporting the public financial information provided by preparers that we all rely on for investment decision making.
