Looking Ahead to a Better 2022

I hope everyone had a good and enjoyable holiday season and now my wishes are for a happy, healthy, and prosperous new year for all. I know this has been a challenging two years for all of us but let’s stay positive and expect better things in 2022.

I stepped down from my position as Chair for Mission 500 as of January 1st, 2022. Working with Mission 500 and this position has been the most positive experience in my career in over 45 years. I am so proud of this industry and how we all came together to have fun and help the children of our country. This isn’t the end of my involvement because I will be staying on the advisory board. The new leadership will be led by Janet Fenner and Tracy Larson as the new co-chairs, Jason Lutz as treasurer, and Sarah Flanagan as secretary. I want to give a big thanks to Vince Galdi from LRG for his generosity by helping us with our marketing, providing his time and resources, and his strong leadership as treasurer, Christine Marzano for her work as Northeast leader for Mission 500, as well as Kat Mullins, Erika Mennella, the advisory boards, and the committees for their tremendous support during my time as chairperson.

I was also the President for the past two years for the NJELSA. My term ends in February this year. This opportunity was also very rewarding but it was a tough two years contending with the virus, the loss of my father, Ed Gould, and the ongoing challenges we have had in the state with the introduction of bills that could hurt the industry. I have to say that this was the hardest two years in my industry career, which included being the president of the Staten Island Alarm Association, the Metropolitan Alarm Association. The New York Fire Alarm Association, MBFAA and ESA charter chapter rep in New Jersey. I want to thank Christine Higgins, Sunitha Arni, Joseph Cordi, the board members, and association members for their support during these two years. In my new position as Past President I will stay involved in the AHJ committee, member of the month, golf outing, and the issues that will be arising over the years.?

I have been writing in past issues on post-acquisitions. This is dear to my heart and vital for those going through this process. The most important things first and foremost should include choosing the right company, the right budget, the right culture and the right staff. A good due diligence is the first part of the post-acquisition process. I have to stress that automation, letters to customers and customer service is vital in the process. Of course, it all starts at a hello and important to keep in mind that even though there are basic procedures, every acquisition is different.

That is why, consulting on post-acquisitions is one of my company’s services. If you have any question please call me or my?team.

Until?next time, stay safe and healthy!

Ken
