Looking ahead to the next chapter in my cannabis journey, I am happy to share that I want to focus on these areas which I believe I can bring value to:
- Education – This area has been a love of mine for quite a long time. I would like to get back to spreading facts about cannabis and breaking down stigmas. And helping various groups learn more about how cannabis can help such as Athletes for Care
- Pharmacy – I have focused on the rollout and support of pharmacies for the last few years. I have long believed that for medical cannabis to be accepted as a form of medicine it must be sold alongside traditional medicine. Once that happens it will allow for greater access to patients and more insurance companies/employers will get on board to provide coverage
- Insurance – It is important to increase acceptance and support by insurance companies. This will lead to greater access for patients and lower their cost of use as a result of more research coming out and continued reduction of stigma
- Innovation - I’d like to explore products in the cannabis 2.0 space and dare I say it 3.0. This could include, but is not limited to, further exploration of terpenes & lesser known cannabinoids, automation/AI, Biosynthesis, using DNA to predict the right cannabis strains for people, and nano-technology in regards to bio-availability
- International - I am very excited with the rollout of cannabis around the world! Although this year’s ICBC Berlin was delayed, attending the show over the past three years has been extremely eye opening. I’ve spent a lot of time speaking to people in various countries about how my experience can help these emerging markets and I look forward to furthering this work.
I’m open to hearing about opportunities in these or other interesting areas so feel free to reach out. For now I am hanging up my hat in terms of the LP business. There are new doors to open in this industry and I’m looking forward to exploring an area that I have yet to delve into. I’m sure my experiences from the start of the legal cannabis industry can be an asset to many.
