Looker 6.1
What Is Looker & How Does It Work?
Looker is a powerful business intelligence (BI) tool that can help a business develop insightful visualizations. It offers a user-friendly workflow, is completely browser-based, and facilitates dashboard collaboration.
Looker markets a data exploration and discovery business intelligence platform. It helps you explore, share, and visualize your company's data so that you can make better business decisions.
It was acquired by Google in 2019 and is now part of the Google Cloud Platform.
Looker can be deployed on public cloud services or hosted on-perm, with seamless migration across cloud databases. The looker experience is completely browser-based.
Looker requires upfront work, building out a semantic model for storing all of your business logic and metrics, and you then have a single source of truth.
Once set up, Looker is very collaborative, especially considering the parallel publishing function that allows multiple users to work in the same dashboard concurrently.
Looker pricing is customized for each company's needs and preferences. However, Looker requires an MPP database for optimal performance, which should be added to your budget.
