There's a massive sense of relief that takes over when we complete a project.

It's essentially, "thank god that's over"... but, typically, with more swearing...

The thing is that's absolutely fine.

However, by the time you've got over that sense of relief, you've already started another project and then the cycle starts again.

This skips the most important bit!

Taking the time to think "well done me"

That's a quote by the way, not a personal request for praise...*

After finishing that pitch, project or proposal, give yourself the breathing space to look back on the progress you've made.

It's more than just getting something off your desk, but a combination of positives through your own effort, creativity, and perseverance.

It doesn't matter whether it's something you've done for the first time or fiftieth, it's important you celebrate it either way.

Give yourself that break, or chocolatey treat (yes, I like snacks), or an episode of utterly addictive but terrible television.

Just do something rewarding that works for you. And keep doing it each time you've got something to celebrate – no matter how big or small.

Make sure you write them down somewhere too (to read when imposter syndrome strikes.)

To put it bluntly, it's time to stop thinking "thank f**k that's over!" and start thinking "look what I've done!"

Seriously, look!
