Today's newsletter focuses on an upcoming free webinar I'm running for accountants and bookkeepers.

I was originally booked to present this webinar last week for a branch of the ICB. Sadly the zoom call couldn't get started as no one seemed to have been set up as host. After half an hour I agreed with the organisers to abandon our efforts.

Rather than wait for a fresh date to be set some weeks or months in the future I decided to rearrange the webinar myself and to extend the invitation more widely.

Who is the webinar for?

You will find the webinar of use and value if you can relate to any of the following:

• you feel that you ‘should’ be doing more on social media and on Linkedin, but are not sure how or what to do?
• you are very cynical about social media as it seems to be full of utter nonsense, but is there more to it than that?
• you *think* it’s all been overhyped and you don’t have the time to learn how to use it effectively;
• you are very active online but are not getting the business benefits you really want; or
• you are envious or skeptical about the results others appear to be getting from their activity on social media and Linkedin?

I have been advising accountants how to use social media and Linkedin for business over the last ten or so years.

A common misconception is a failure to understand the crucial difference between ‘active passivity’ and ‘positive activity’ online. Just understanding this simple concept can make all the difference to you getting the results you want.

Another misconception is that you need to follow all of the generic advice re how to use social media and Linkedin. I disagree and I'll explain why during the webinar.

I have been experimenting with this new AI facility for a few weeks and often (not always) am super impressed with the speed and value of what it produces.

I recently told ChatGPT what this webinar covers and asked it to suggest alternative titles. Here's the best of the results:

These all seem pretty good to me. I've stuck with my original title for now, but welcome feedback as to any that you think would be better to use should I ever rerun the webinar.
