Look West PM and South Premier
Today was my last day at a company that I enjoyed working at and with people that I really enjoyed work with. That is hard to find in your career, I was lucky enough to experience it first hand.
The main reason for my sudden career derailment is the lack of action and support from both our Federal and Alberta Provincial governments regarding our oil & gas industry. It's only now that we are approaching an election year that minor steps forward are being made. The idealized policies regarding social license and carbon tax, that both of these governments implemented, has had direct consequences on people's lives. I know I'm not the first nor the last to be directly impacted, laid off, as a result of these policies.
I have 8 years left in my career, I can only hope that the next government can rectify this crisis in time for our industry to recover. I'm a proud Canadian and proud to be a part of our oil & gas industry. Canada produces socially responsible, ethical and environmentally robust hydrocarbons, not many other countries can say that.

I was quite shocked to learn of your departure this morning. Having never worked directly under you I consider myself very fortunate to have worked with many that have. You have inspired and engaged some of the finest professionals in our industry today. May the New Year bring a new chapter for you and our industry… Let’s keep up the fight for the world’s most Responsibly & Ethically Developed Resource.
