Look Up

Look Up

Look up! When these things begin to happen, your redemption is drawing near! (Luke 21:28) Jesus prophesied that when the perils of earth become so overwhelming, it would be a clear sign of the end of days! Uncertainty concerning coronavirus, catastrophic weather events like the tornado outbreak in Nashville (22 dead and rising), financial market volatility (the worst day ever and the best day ever for the Dow Jones index, both in the same week). More Christians being martyred for their faith now than at anytime in history. It should be clear that the prophetic words of Luke 21 are precise concerning " these last days". As a believer, I am looking up! I know with certainty that the end of days in eminent and our time is short. To borrow a phrase from Francis Schaeffer, "How then shall we live?" The truth is, I want to live! I want to experience the goodness and greatness of God. I want to see my children, and their children grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18). I want to make a difference. I want to see them make a difference!Time is short. Our opportunities are fading. C.T. Studd may have said it best. Only one life, will soon be passed. Only what's done for Christ will last! People today are looking up, some in hope, many more with dread! If Christ IS the Son of God, if His words ARE true, the very fact that people are looking up is reason for hope! It is my responsibility, it is the high honor of every Christ follower, to share the unfailing Word of hope with those who are lost, those who are looking for answers. The gospel of Jesus is ours to live, to share, to defend. To do any less calls in to question our commit to Christ! No one deserves to be separated from the love of God. The fate of the world is in our hands. What then shall we do? How, then shall we live? Go tell it on the mountain, over the hills and everywhere, that Jesus Christ is born! That is good news. It's our good news. That's news worth sharing. We are without excuse! Let's go tell it!
