Blackberry Cilantro Margarita

Welcome back, or if it’s your first time here, take a seat, and I’ll fix you a drink.

This June, I’m rolling out a different margarita each week.

Today, we are going to look at a Blackberry Cilantro Margarita.

You can find my classic base, Tommy’s margarita here .

Let's start with some ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz Tequila?
  • 1 oz Triple sec
  • 1 oz Simple syrup
  • Fresh Blackberries (about 8)
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • Fresh Cilantro
  • Sea salt

What Glass should I use,…

  • Margarita glass
  • Double old fashioned (with a large clear square cube)
  • Old fashioned
  • Rocks

What hardware do I need?

  • Shaker
  • Strainer
  • Muddler
  • Fine mesh strainer

Directions - Let's do this; let's make a drink!

If you want to rim the glass, run the rim around with a spare lime wedge and rotate through the salt.

In a shaker, combine the Tequila, TripleSec, Simple Syrup, 8 Fresh Blackberries, and Lime juice.

Add 6-8 sprigs of fresh cilantro cut or chopped into small pieces.

Use a muddler to crush the Blackberries into the shaker until they are just one big, mushy mess.

Add ice

Shake

Double strain into your glass.

Garnish with a Lime wheel, a blackberry on a stick, or even a sprig of Cilantro.

Enjoy

Tips

Add a couple of slices of Jalape?o into the glass after you serve to slowly add an extra kick.

If you are making a few, make this ahead and keep it in the fridge. Double straining can be challenging as you filter out all the pulp.
