Continued learning and skills development are key to a successful career. In LinkedIn’s 2024 Workplace Learning Report , 8 in 10 people say learning adds purpose to their work. Generation Z, in particular, places a high importance on learning. 16% more of this group say learning helps them explore potential career paths at their company. Employees at all levels can benefit from leadership training, which can help build or strengthen soft skills like communication and stress management. When evaluating companies and roles, consider how they invest in employee development to help you succeed on the job and in your career. In addition to improving existing skills (upskilling), professional development can include learning new skills (reskilling) that can help you prepare for a new role or career.
