Look at the Big Picture

Look at the Big Picture

Liverpool F.C season has started the Season?‘poorly’. The Team is currently looking quite average, and definitely not at their best. This is mainly the same Team that was close to winning 4 Major Trophies in the previous Season, and now languish in 9 Position, fighting for a top 4 Finish. Many had expected them to be fighting for 1st Position, and to win multiple trophies. (The Season I still ‘early’, thus I am still optimistic)

Keyboard warriors are ?now ?slamming the players and coaches. As Social Media has grown, the pressure of success and the fear of failure has increased in Life and Sport. There are many key board warriors who like to bring misery to others, and spew hatred. From heroes to zeros within months.

?What has caused the change in their Fortunes for Liverpool F.C?

Players being tired (long previous season with short break)?

Bad management?

Bad ownership?

Lack of recruitment/ Investment?

Poor Players?

Lack of Commitment?

Other Teams have invested better?

…..?

The list could be endless, but a better question could ?be what is needed to get them back to where they were, and keep them there? Jurgen Klopp took over as Manager of Liverpool in 2015, with Liverpool F.C. Languishing in the Middle of the pack. Since then, he has made them World Class, and has won 6 Major Trophies. There are now calls for Jurgen Klopp to be Fired, which in extremely short sighted, and is coming from people who do not look at the Big Picture.

Mikel Arteta the Arsenal ?Manager was hired in 2019 and inherited a slightly dysfunctional Arsenal F.C squad. Over time he got rid of players who were not team players (and took a lot of heat from pundits and spectators alike) and brought in ?players who wanted to learn and succeed. For the first couple of years Arsenal struggled under Arteta, and there were numerous calls for Arteta to be fired.

It ‘pains’ me to say, Arsenal F.C have learnt from previous mistakes, and maybe from Liverpool F.C success (for selfish reasons I would have preferred they continued with their hiring and firing of Managers as many still do) and are now sitting at the top of the league. The owners wisely ignored the outside influences, and the poor results as they saw the bigger picture. Will they finish first? Hopefully not, but wherever they end up, no one will be able to deny the growth that the Arsenal Team and Players have shown. If they continue to learn, strengthen the squad, and look at the bigger picture Arsenal F.C will continue to grow as a Team, and push for Top 4 year after year.

Unfortunately, in Sport and Business there can be a ?knee jerk reaction when things are not going to plan, and players/ employees ?are not given time to succeed. Many have lost ?their job when the big picture is not looked at or analyzed ?more closely.

In Life and in Business do not forget to look at the Bigger Picture, provide the resources for success and remember to ignore the Keyboard Warriors.
