What an engineering masterpiece is the JAMES WEBB SPACE TELESCOPE (JWST), a 10 billion dollar project with 40 million hours of engineering efforts. Congratulations to #NASA and the entire team involved in this initiative since the JWST is now fully deployed to Second Lagrange point (aka L2).?
Some incredible pieces of engineering have been built like the Sun Shield, The Colling System used Sound Waves any many more. Reading the tech behind it is fascinating as it is one of the most sophisticated systems ever created by humans.?
The following are a few facts that you may be interested in learning more about.
Lagrange Point
Lagrange points are positions in space where objects sent there tend to stay put. At Lagrange points, the gravitational pull of two large masses precisely equals the centripetal force required for a small object to move with them. These points in space can be used by spacecraft to reduce the fuel consumption needed to remain in position. Below is a diagram that illustrates five points.?
What can we see through the JWST lenses?
Webb will be able to see back to about 100 million - 250 million years after the Big Bang.
