A Look Back at ISCAS 2024: Shaping Circuits and Systems for a Sustainable Future

The IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS) 2024 concluded on 22 May, leaving a lasting impression on the Singaporean stage and the global circuits and systems community. Held at the Resorts World Convention Centre, the event brought together leading researchers, industry professionals, and academics to explore the cutting edge of this ever-evolving field.

This year's theme, "Circuits and Systems for Sustainable Development," resonated deeply throughout the conference. Sessions explored innovative solutions that leverage circuits and systems to address pressing environmental challenges. From energy-efficient designs to green technologies, ISCAS 2024 showcased the immense potential of this field to create a more sustainable future.

Highlights of ISCAS 2024:

• Technical Excellence: The conference boasted a comprehensive program featuring technical lectures, poster presentations, and special sessions. Attendees delved into the latest research across a wide range of topics, from analog and digital integrated circuits to machine learning and bio-inspired systems.

• Emerging Technologies: Dedicated workshops explored the frontiers of information security, climate change mitigation strategies, and GeronCAS (circuits and systems for gerontology). These sessions fostered discussions on how circuits and systems can address some of society's most pressing challenges.

• Celebrating 75 Years of CASS: The IEEE Circuits and Systems (CAS) Society marked its 75th anniversary at ISCAS 2024. This celebration highlighted the society's unwavering commitment to advancing the field and recognized its contributions to technological progress. The IEEE CASS 75th Anniversary celebrations were a major highlight of ISCAS 2024! We enjoyed a Past President Sharing Panel, introduced our official mascot Ohmie, and had a fun photo booth capturing memories (check it out and submit your photos to the photo mosaic if you haven't already!). The Gala Dinner featured a traditional Chinese Dragon Dance, interactive dancing, and even a CASS song – stay tuned for the recording link! We then wrapped up the week with a farewell reception at Malaysian Food Street.

ExCom and BoG Meeting Highlights:

The CASS Executive Committee and Board of Governors hosts their May meetings in conjunction with ISCAS each year. This year's meetings were a great success with the largest in-person meeting attendance since 2019 to celebrate the?75th Anniversary of the Society. Discussion was held on exciting developments such as the new IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Artificial Intelligence (TCASAI), record membership growth, and ongoing 75th-anniversary plans, including the release of the 2nd Edition of "A Short History of Circuits and Systems". The BoG also explored plans to increase industry involvement within CASS, and heard a presentation from the Division I Director,?Yong Lian, on the?IEEE Global Semiconductors Initiative.
