A Look Back at a Look Forward

Current economic, social, and political events keep reminding me of the work I did back in 1998 on a timeline of trends and events that looked forward to 2100 A.D.

Almost 20 years ago, I noted that the period from about 2010 to 2030 would be one of increased social and political unrest. I think the events of the past couple of years have proven that we are in unsettled times.

Back in 1998 I also noted that the period from about 2004 through 2027 would be one of increased likelihood of American involvement in a war. The war in Afghanistan started in 2001 and continues to this day with American troops on the ground. The second war in Iraq began in 2003 and American troops are still there as well.
