A look back on 2022 and what's in store for Baytree in 2023.

What a year 2022 has been at Baytree. Here our Managing Director Chris Astle looks back on our highlights and shares what is in store for the business in 2023.

Says Chris ‘‘This year has been one of transformation for the business. At the beginning of the year we took the decision to raise our vehicle profile by focusing on vehicles in the ￡50K to ￡500K price range, this allowed us to focus more specifically on the higher profile prestige, performance and supercars allowing us to cement our position as one the of the UK’s leading prestige, performance and supercar dealers. To support this, we invested circa ￡250K on refurbishing and expanding our showroom, increasing our stock holding and storage facilities, enabling us to display over one hundred vehicles on site at any one time.

‘‘This step change has been supported by us being more selective in our buying. We ensure we only source models we want to sell and are happy to buy ?back from our clients when they want to ?sell or part exchange.

‘‘We have been successful in sourcing some rare cars this year including Ferrari SF90, 296, Porsche GT3 and numerous models from Lamborghini, Maclaren, Jaguar Land Rover and Bentley. One of my favourite deals this year was a Lamborghini LP640.

‘‘It has also been great to see an increase in our global presence with a number of Baytree vehicles sold and shipped out to countries including Malaysia, Spain, and the USA, with an increasing number of enquiries coming in from Australia and New Zealand.

‘‘To help raise our profile we have also rebranded the company to create a more visual brand ?identity, recognisable with a?new logo that reflects the positioning of our business in the marketplace. This is now visible throughout our showroom.

‘‘We were also delighted to host several in house events this year, including a Supercar Driver reakfast meet and an evening with local business owners from Marketing Derby . We’ve also taken the Baytree brand on the road participating in the Supercar Driver Season opener at Bicester Village and the secret meet at Donington Park Racing Ltd Park. We were also delighted to support the TSR Motorshow in support of Rainbow’s hospice back in the summer.

‘‘I cannot finish the roundup without acknowledging the tremendous dedication and support of our team, which has grown this year to include three new members culminating in Baytree winning the prestigious Independent Dealer of the Year award for Premium Cars at the Motor Trader Independent Dealer Awards in October. We were also thrilled to be chosen as finalists at the Automotive Management Awards, the Derbyshire Business Awards, and the Motor Trader Industry Awards this Year too’’.

So, what does 2023 have in store for Baytree? Says Chris, ‘‘I am delighted to announce we start the new year with the appointment of a qualified Sales Manager, joining us?having had many years’ experience in the prestige sector. We will be introducing him in due course.''

Our focus for 2023 will be to build on our success in 2022 and continue to do what we do best – sourcing and selling high-quality prestige, performance and supercars, and continuing to provide excellent customer service.?
