Look Around, Look Within: Recognizing Mental Health Awareness Year-round
One positive change I see emerging from the pandemic is a new willingness to talk openly about stress, burnout and mental health with less fear of shame or stigma.
The month of May is #mentalhealthawarenessmonth and throughout the month, Corewell Health has worked to spread awareness and #breakthestigma surrounding mental health.
As an organization focused on health, well-being is a major priority for our system all year-round. Each one of us is on a mental health journey, and every journey includes rough patches. Sometimes, to keep putting one foot in front of the other, we need a shoulder to lean on or a partner to share the load.
Caring for our own health lies at the heart of caring for the health of others. Let’s be mindful of what each of us has been through by prioritizing our mental health and supporting those around us, too.

1 年I feel change is happening, we are doing a lot of talking, the topic is not shied away from. I feel now we need to address the root(s) of the problem. I'm not the expert, but from my vantage point, the affects of social media on young minds, depression and it's roots, and lack of connections is a great place to start. People need more connections with people and not technology.
