Crocker Art Museum 's Director and CEO Lial Jones will end her 25-year tenure at the museum at the close of this year.

"It's just one of those milestones," Jones told the Business Journal. "The museum is in fabulous condition. I think that it will attract a wonderful new leader, and I'd like a little rest."

Roseville Galleria reveals 2024 plans

The Westfield Galleria at Roseville is expected to undergo big changes in the year ahead, with a handful of relocations and store upgrades planned and several new-to-market retailers anticipated to open.

How a local law firm nearly lost a $500K settlement to wire fraud

Data Reporter Mengyuan Dong makes her cover story debut this week with a look at the local impact of wire transfer scams.

Officials at Galt Joint Union High School District, former basketball coach Angela DaPrato and their respective attorneys had reason to believe they had reached the end of a three-year ordeal last March, when they had come to a settlement of the lawsuit that DaPrato had filed against the district in 2020.

But that wasn't the end of their story.

A scammer, believed to be based in Nigeria, impersonating legal staff and using fraudulent internet domain names, nearly stole the $500,000 settlement payment from the school district's defense counsel. Read more


Bogle's new wine brand ditches glass bottles

A Clarksburg winery is hoping to shake up the wine market with a new innovation in packaging.

The Bogle Family Wine Collection has launched a new wine label, called Element[AL], that is selling all its wine in aluminum bottles.

“What we wanted to do is create that opportunity for the consumer to make that eco-friendly choice without having to sacrifice what they love about wine,” said Jody Bogle, vice president of consumer relations.

Rite Aid permanently closing Woodland distribution center

Rite Aid's large distribution center in Woodland is permanently closing, resulting in the elimination of more than 200 jobs.

Philadelphia-based Rite Aid recently put its lease for the 513,067-square-foot distribution center at 1755 E. Beamer St. in Woodland up for sale.

The company has since filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification with the California Employment Development Department stating the center will permanently close. The company stated the center would be closing May 12. The closure will result in the elimination of 241 jobs, according to the filing. Read more
