Longing for More: The Heart of a Believer

Often, my heart aches for something more than what is found in this world. I dream for the day when I will be able to completely experience the fullness of God’s love and presence. The words from Matthew remind us that there is only One who can satisfy the deepest longings for our soul.

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied,” (Matthew 5:7 NASB).

Those who long for righteousness, who see the sin and wickedness in the world and desire for it to be overcome, are truly blessed. They have a deep spiritual longing for God and prioritize righteousness above all else.

Jesus promises that these people will be satisfied. Their love for God will overflow from within them, and the true rewards of righteousness are yet to come.

As we look towards the day when all impurity and those who love it will be justly punished in hell, and all wrongs will be made right, we can have hope and rejoice in the triumph of righteousness.

There will be no more sin and in the fullness of God’s love and presence for eternity. Continue to hunger and thirst for righteousness as we trust in God’s promise of abundant fulfillment.
