Longest Car Wash In The World....but...

Recently, a well-known convenience store chain made the headlines with their announcement of opening the longest car wash in the world.

So many people were in awe and amazed of the record they would set. But the one record they forgot to mention is the amount of cars that they will destroy the clear coat on. Why do you say that Billy?

You see, every car comes with a few layers of paint. The final one that gives your car that shine is the clear coat. This layer is the one that allows the color beneath it to be intact and look perfect. However, once this layer starts wearing out, your car will not have the same shine anymore. Paint may even start peeling if it gets really bad. This same layer is where the scratches appear.

The more people run their car thru a machine, the more this layer wears off. The sun and your driving habits can have an effect on it as well. However, with good care, it can last longer than expected.

You should consider adding a wax two to three times a year. If you want a little more protection, the best would be a clear coat sealant. Think of these as additional layers that you can add to your vehicle. A clear coat sealant can last from 8 to 12 months, and a wax can last from 3 to 5 months. These can be used together. The more layers; the better. The goal is to keep the clear coat layer of paint intact. Now, there is no possible way to prevent this whatsoever when you run a vehicle thru a machine that is only focused on pushing a record number of cars thru its tunnel in an hour.

Sure, if your goal is to be in and out as fast as possible, this "record-breaking car wash" may be the best option for you. But not if your goal is to protect your car and maintain the paint in its best condition. Come to Manoos instead where every car is washed by hand and care for the paint of your vehicle. If you would like to learn more about our clear coat sealant, or our other wax and polishing options, please contact us so we can assess your vehicle and what fits best for us.
