No longer kept in the dark

PointSCAN’s commitment to providing innovative solutions recently tested the abilities of both our equipment and our engineers when completing a survey of an outdoor concert event for promoter LPH Concerts. 

With construction of the venue being undertaken right up to the event opening, a window of opportunity was taken to complete the survey overnight. So with the rest of the production crew getting some well earned rest our engineers got to work gathering as-built data with the majority of the site in total darkness.

The process captured 27 scans with over 2 billion data points and covered an area of over 3 hectares and will be used to provide valuable planning data and visualisations for future events on the site.

The Faro Focus 330 scanner delivered outstanding images and recorded a 1.6mm variation across the entire survey exceeding the expectations of both the survey team and the client.
