The long road beyond 2019
As a father, grandfather, a teacher and a nature lover, I’m very concerned about the future. Well, next year is the closest part of that future.
I’m not very knowledgeable about politics. Regardless, you can easily see a global tendency to extreme ideologies based and supported by intolerance and discrimination. Surely, this is not helping confront all the big problems our societies are facing. On the other hand, a positive side is that women are taking the lead. For the first time in the humanity’s history, except maybe for Cleopatra and Queen Elizabeth’s time, women are reaching powerful positions around the world. Also, I believe that this country (USA) is going to have a woman president very soon. Let me tell you, after almost forty years with a beautiful and strong gal at my side, I could honestly say accurately, it’s a great thing.
Of course, we can’t talk about the future without mentioning “The Millennials”. I believe they are going to see all the problems the world faces right now in a different and simpler way. They grew up with technology and because of that, they have tools we didn’t have at their age. Unfortunately, we left a planet with very serious issues for them to address.
Finally, I would like to mention something that is the main theme of a book project I’ve had in mind for a long time, and that is “Spirituality”. Humanity is not going to be united through culture, politics or religion. But certainly by The Spirit. When all human beings realize we believe and search in life for the same things, we’re going to see and understand each other in a different and positive way.
I hope 2019 will give us a real path to start a journey in that direction.
