Believing in yourself...your profession! Just recently, I happened to hear a stalwart saying that "there will be no HR by 2020". Some very reactive responses, some trolling, some appreciation were all the way to substantiate that "stalwart's" thoughts. I wonder just by believing in someone else's prerogative, we should start questioning our own profession. As Dr. Abdul Kalam once said and I quote" Love your job (profession) but don't love your organization as you never know when your organization stops loving you". Unquote. So love your job your profession. Look for innovative ways of keeping abreast with international/local trends, keep exploring newer technologies which cannot just support you and your business but also create more value for the entire business chain.
I believe, as long as there are human beings on this earth, there will be a conflict, evolution is constant which means there will be a need for continuous learning and development, change management...HR profession will continuously thrive to strive with both conspicuous and inconspicuous value creation for the organization.
Yes, we will be more doing away with operational or transactional HR activities which in any case we want to do away with ...So the HR profession will be there in a new "avatar" much better than before...more sought after than before and more challenging than before.
Amen

8 年Excellent thoughts Seema profession is like energy it can't be destroyed but it can change it's form. We have seen journey from Personnel and Administration to present day HR. Technology will make some parts redundant but new areas will evolve. It is same as machines will replace humans and humans will be required to build and operate machines. Darwin said survival of fitest.
