A Long Due Fashion Revolution

A Long Due Fashion Revolution

The future of fashion is kindness?
Being kind towards the planet?
Being kind towards artisans?
Being kind towards consumers

Everyone in and around the fashion industry is talking about slow fashion and it is changing the fashion game.

But what exactly is slow fashion?

Quality > Quantity?

Slow fashion is a philosophy that emphasises the importance of well-made, timeless pieces that are designed to last, reducing waste and promoting sustainable practices.

Origins of Slow Fashion

While the term "slow fashion" gained prominence in recent years, the movement gained momentum during the global financial crisis of 2008 as concerns about the environmental and social consequences of fast fashion grew, designers and consumers began seeking alternatives.

What does this mean for you as a customer??

  • Invest in Quality: Prioritise pieces made from high-quality & sustainable materials that are built to last.
  • Shop Less Frequently: Opt for fewer, well-made items instead of constantly buying new trends, whether it's clothing or handbags.
  • Explore thrift stores: Thrift stores offer a treasure trove of one-of-a-kind pieces that you won't find anywhere else. From vintage classics to trendy secondhand finds.
  • Learn to read labels and look for certifications: Look for labels that indicate the use of eco-friendly materials like organic cotton, linen,? rPET and other organic and recycled materials.?

Here is how we are practising Slow Fashion at Ecoright:?

Our commitment to sustainability extends to every aspect of our production process. From the materials we source to the ethical working conditions we provide, we strive to create products that benefit both people and the planet. Here's our approach:?

Conscious Manufacturing: we don't make stuff randomly. We take painstaking efforts to ensure each bag is good for the planet. We launch conscious products in limited quantities that we know our customers will like.?

Ethical Sourcing: We are proud to be Fair Trade and Sedex certified, demonstrating our commitment to ethical business practices and the welfare of our suppliers and artisans.

Safe Production: Committed to sustainability, we use azo-free inks and dyes, making our products safe for you and the planet.

Limited Production: We follow a demand-based production model to avoid overproduction and waste.

Sustainable Transportation: To reduce our carbon footprint, we primarily transport our bags by land or sea.

We believe that style and ethics can go hand-in-hand. That's why we've committed ourselves to using only organic and recycled materials, ensuring fair labour practices, and designing timeless pieces that stand the test of time. Our goal is to inspire others to embrace sustainable fashion and make a positive impact on the world and we are just getting started.
