"Long-Awaited" Summer Camps are back After Covid-19
Many sports facilities for children aged 6 to 16 will be established this summer, and the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will hold a summer coaching camp in the city from April 25th to May 31st. The entire exercise includes an estimated cost of 1.42 Crore rupees. As part of this, sporting goods were procured and distributed to the managers of the playgrounds where these camps are organized.

This annual activity of the GHMC to promote sports is taking place after a two-year break, and the camp is not organized in 2020 and 2021 due to Covid 19 restrictions. In the annual sports program "Summer Coaching Camp 2022", the civic body again offers 44 different sports training in 357 locations in different parts of the city.
The activities include cricket, badminton, swimming, basketball, volleyball, tennis, hockey, and roller skating. The camp runs from 6:15 am to 8:15 am and interested people can register by visiting https://www.ghmc.gov.in/. There is a charge for using the service.
To ensure that the camp runs smoothly, 780 trainers have been hired to exclusively train and supervise sports activities on the site. They receive an honorarium for the services provided. Quiz competitions and tournaments are also held at these camps and all arrangements are made, according to GHMC officials. "April 25th will be the first camp to open on the Victory Playground in Chadergat. Careful precautions have been taken to effectively organize the camp," he said. VPG earns 210,000 rupees.
A total of Rs 21,000 has recently been approved to improve the amenities of the Victory Playground, funding work related to furniture repair, painting, and procurement. Similarly, another camp will start on April 28th at PJR Stadium in Chandanagar.

Furthermore, to improve the sports facilities within the GHMC boundaries, the GHMC has asked the state government for permission to hire 131 trainers. Currently, 78 part-time trainers are working for citizenship. They are located in 12 sports complexes, 7 swimming pools, and 521 playgrounds.
