Loneliness - Global Health Threat
Recently, World Health Organisation (W.H.O) declares loneliness as a pressing global health threat.
High rates of social isolation and loneliness around the world have serious consequences for health and well-being.
People without enough strong social connections are at higher risk of stroke, anxiety, dementia, depression, suicide and more,” said W.H.O.
Facts out of W.H.O studies:
1. 1 in 4 adults reported feeling very or fairly lonely
2. The health risks are as bad as smoking up to 15 cigarettes a day, and even greater than those associated with obesity and physical inactivity.
3. Loneliness is associated with a 50% increased risk of developing dementia and a 30% increased risk of coronary artery disease or stroke.

1. Get comfortable with spending time alone.
2. Choose fulfilling and rewarding activities.?Like listening to music or reading a book
3. Make time for exercise.
4. Enjoy the outdoors activities like joining a group walk.
5. Stay in touch with loved ones.
6. Volunteer or participate in community events.
7. Try a new hobby.
8. Get out of the house - Take a walk & exchange smile and hello.
9. Adopt a pet.
