London Growth Plan: Big Ambitions, Big Challenges

Today's London Growth Plan sets out an ambitious vision for the capital’s economic productivity, but turning these aspirations into reality will require careful execution.
With over 30 years of experience in delivering business support in the capital, one question remains: why is this still a persistent challenge?
If London is truly shifting towards a polycentric model—spreading economic activity beyond the traditional core—long-term transport investment must align with this vision. The numbers are staggering: just the projects outlined on page 89 alone carry a £50 billion price tag. Where will the funding come from?
Then there’s the regulatory balance. Too much red tape could stifle productivity, but too little could create unintended consequences. Striking the right balance between grwoth ambitions and the London Plan and other policies will be crucial.
The ambition is there. The collaboration is evident. Now, the challenge is in delivering a plan that is funded, feasible and future-proofed. #LondonIsOpen
