London Calling: Libertas at the West End

Last week, four members of our Libertas team participated in the Royal Geographers Annual Conference with the British Geographical Society in London. This three-day event attracted over 2,000 attendees and centred around the theme of cartography and mapping in all its forms.

It was fascinating to observe how geographers approached mapping and cartography from various perspectives, including the historical, social, and practical applications in today’s world, along with discussions on the implications of AI. With more than 30 sessions and workshops available for each sitting, selecting the most relevant topics for our agenda proved to be quite a challenge. One standout session was the "The Inefficient Mapping Experimental Workshop", which offered invaluable insights as the title suggests!

At Libertas, we are dedicated to ensuring our staff is well-versed in the latest technologies and practices. Being on the other side of the globe provides us with unique opportunities, and we are excited to attend several more conferences in the coming weeks. These events not only contribute to our personal development but also strengthens us working together as a team.
