Lombok: Exploring the Natural Splendor of Bali's Neighbor

Who doesn't know Bali? Or also referred to as the Island of the Gods, an island paradise with sandy beaches, volcanic vistas, and tropical jungles. Surfers and spiritual seekers brought the Goddess to prominence in the 1960s, and ever since then, travelers from all over the world have come to see its breathtaking beaches and scenery. Over the last ten years, there has been a dramatic shift in the amount of tourists and their requirements, and since the Covid period, visitor numbers have risen. This has unintentionally aided in the growth of neighboring islands while some parts of Bali have lost much of their allure and individuality.

On a monthly basis, Lombok receives almost 100 times fewer international tourists than Bali. However, there are more factors besides only these figures that affect how many visitors arrive in Lombok. Yes, Indonesia—also referred to as the country of 17,000 islands—offers breathtaking beauty everywhere. Many travelers choose to split their journey into many stops and travel independently to Lombok, such as by ferry or swift boat, even after arriving in Bali. Ferry services have grown significantly in the last few years, providing a large number of daily crossings at relatively competitive rates.

In terms of surface area, Lombok looks comparable to its neighbor Bali, however it falls significantly behind in terms of infrastructure and urbanization. The main draw of our island is precisely this wilder, more unspoiled side. In contrast to Bali, which is sometimes thought to be highly developed and touristy, Lombok provides a more tranquil and authentic environment. For those looking for a more genuine, in-the-moment vacation experience, Lombok is a top pick due to its serene mood and abundance of natural beauty. The Sempiak Villas in Selong Belanak and the Tunak Hotel in Gerupuk are two locations that will greet you in remarkable surroundings because of hotels and activities that are centered around this natural and conservative spirit. Furthermore, Lombok's reefs and animals are protected while their biodiversity and beauty are showcased by diving guides like the crew at Blue Marlin Dive.

As previously said, an increasing number of travelers are hoping to stop over in Lombok when traveling through Indonesia. But it's not only travelers: Lombok is becoming more and more popular with entrepreneurs, business owners, and investors in Bali as they see the island's potential for visitors. This is the situation in the town center of Kuta Mandalika, a tiny town in southern Lombok, where franchises and new enterprises from Bali are opening. For example? the opening of Pepito Market, the biggest store in the town center, and "Alsace Le Marché," a supermarket that specializes in fine French goods. Other major and powerful companies from Bali are also starting to show up. One such company is PT Mirah, a promotion company that works on big projects. It recently completed its first project on the island of Lombok, building the over 8-hectare Kuara resort in the Kuta region, which is scheduled to open in the near future.

Airlines are announcing direct flights between Lombok and Australia as growth draws growth. These new air linkages are expected to be operational this year, based on information from Kompas. The goal of this large-scale project is to improve the connections between these two locations; Sydney and Darwin should be involved. AirAsia has begun operating flights between Perth and Lombok, as reported concurrently by 7News. There are also planned direct flights to Dubai (UAE) and Canton (China). The fresh flights, which were postponed and canceled due to the pandemic, are now confirmed!

These new links will have the effect of making southern Lombok into a new, smaller Bali while preserving its distinct and serene identity. Due to the anticipated surge of highly-affluent Australian tourists, Lombok's tourism industry is poised to witness unparalleled expansion. This will result in higher demand across several industries, including lodging, dining, and tourism, creating new business prospects for our regional company owners. We therefore cordially welcome you to explore our new offerings and contemplate the intriguing options presented by this new connection between Lombok and Australia.
