LoJack LE Assists with Recovery of 2019 Infiniti Q50 in Burbank, IL

On April 5, 2024, the owners of a 2019 Infiniti Q50 called the Chicago Police Department to report their vehicle stolen from the parking lot at Midway Airport. They also contacted the LoJack Command Center to alert them of the theft.

The LoJack GPS device installed in the vehicle indicated it was in a garage in Chicago. At the time, the Chicago police did not have enough probable cause to obtain a search warrant for the garage where the stolen vehicle was stored. An electronic GEO fence was then activated to surveil the vehicle for any movement from the garage's area where it was housed.

On April 13, 2024, the law enforcement team at LoJack detected movement of the stolen Infiniti from the garage. The LE team notified local law enforcement agencies with access to LoJack LE, a new application that allows law enforcement to directly track stolen vehicles equipped with LoJack. A police officer with the Burbank police, a suburb of Chicago, began tracking the stolen vehicle with the app on his cell phone. The vehicle was located, and the driver (a juvenile) was placed under arrest.
