LoJack Assists Police with Recovery of a 2023 Toyota Tacoma in Duncanville, TX

The owner of a 2023 Toyota Tacoma, valued at $48,600, reported it stolen to the Dallas Police Department, and the vehicle was entered as stolen into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database. The owner also contacted the LoJack customer service center to advise of the theft. This activated the LoJack stolen vehicle recovery system.?

The LoJack customer service center notified the Duncanville PD that the Tacoma was tracking within their jurisdiction. Officers with Duncanville PD went to the last known location which had multiple vehicles and several buildings on the property. From the street, officers were not able to visibly locate the stolen Tacoma. At this time, the case was forwarded to their Auto Theft Unit.?

Auto Theft Detectives went to the area and initiated a thorough investigation. Through their investigation, the Detectives secured a search warrant for a building on the property. Upon execution of the search warrant, Detectives located the stolen Tacoma and determined it had been VIN-switched. Detectives also located two other stolen Tacoma trucks in the building. All three Tacoma trucks were stolen from parking lots in the Dallas area. The Tacoma trucks were recovered with an approximate combined value of $145,000.?
