Industrial and Logistics Sector Surges: Q1 2024 Demand Insights?

Savills India's latest findings unveil a remarkable 22.7% year-on-year surge in demand for the Industrial and Logistics sector in Q1 2024. Delhi-NCR takes the lead, contributing a substantial 23% to the total supply, closely trailed by Bengaluru and Kolkata, contributing 12% and 10% respectively.?

Warehousing Sector Growth Trends in India?

India's warehousing stock is projected to hit 595 million sq ft by 2027, driven by rising demand and investor interest. Factors like GST implementation and infrastructure improvements have reshaped logistics, prompting companies to restructure for efficiency. Government initiatives have propelled progress, with India climbing sixteen places in the Logistics Performance Index since 2014. In 2023, Grade A & B warehousing space in top cities saw a 15% year-on-year growth, reaching 371 million sq ft, with Grade A stock at 187 million sq ft, showcasing sustained growth prospects.

India Maintains 2nd Position on Agility Logistics Index?

India maintains its 2nd position on the Agility Logistics Index, closing the gap with China. Despite being recognized for its growing importance as both a producer and market, challenges like inadequate infrastructure and corruption persist. While China remains at the top, fewer respondents view it as having the strongest economic growth ahead. The rankings also feature UAE, Malaysia, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Vietnam, Mexico, and Thailand, with UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar offering the best business conditions in emerging markets.?

Interim Union Budget Unveils Three New Economic Rail Corridors?

The Interim Union Budget for 2024-2025, presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, introduces three new economic rail corridors as part of the PM Gati Shakti initiative. These corridors include energy, mineral, and cement corridors, port connectivity corridors, and high traffic density corridors. The budget also sees a notable 11.1% increase in capital expenditure to Rs 11,11,111 crore, equivalent to 3.4% of the GDP.?
