CMA CGM applies updated PSS from Spain to America

CMA CGM Group has announced an update on the Peak Season Surcharge from Spain to the West Coast South America, Central America and the Caribbean.

The origin range will include Spain Med ports (Algeciras, Valencia and Barcelona) with destinations to South America West Coast, Central America and the Caribbean, including Windward, and Mexico West Coast, excluding Puerto Rico, which will remain at US$136 per unit. Read more here


Global IT outage disrupts operations at European box terminals

A global IT outage, caused by a software update from American cybersecurity technology company CrowdStrike, has prompted disruptions in several European container terminals, including Poland's Baltic Hub, UK's port of Felixstowe and the Dutch port of Rotterdam.

Baltic Hub informed that on the morning of July 19, the terminal was affected by difficulties caused by an operating systems failure. Read more here.


Global IT outage slows air cargo shipments

Air cargo shipments are being delayed Friday by a widespread software outage that has crippled technology systems worldwide, including at airlines and airports.

The outage appears to stem from a software update for Microsoft Windows operating systems issued by cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike, which is causing computers at companies and institutions to crash. The company says the issue has been identified and a fix has been deployed. Read more here.
