Logging-on’s first issue of August brings a suite of new equipment and components for tree felling, extraction, transport and road construction. Tigercat have released anew cab for their G-Series wheeled feller bunchers, which has a bag full of improvements, new features and new technology. We examine improvements the Komatsu Forests 20 ton 895 forwarder, with one of the more prominent improvements being the increased bunk size. We look at Iveco’s new Stralis XP truck-tractor for longhaul transport applications, and we are impressed with a new tyre from Goodyear that promises to operate well in the tough logging and forest road construction environment. Finally, we bring the second article by Case on selecting the correct compaction equipment for a specific job.
