MKBHD Stars in Oprah's Special about AI
Oprah Winfrey took on AI in her new Hulu special called AI and the Future of Us.
It featured big names including Sam Altman, Bill Gates, and Marques Brownlee aka MKBHD.
The special was yet another notch in Brownlee's belt as one of the most powerful people in tech. Not just YouTube.
But it also shed light on 2 things:
1) AI is getting good...scary good.
Brownlee showed how AI can instantly generate videos and voices, making it impossible to tell what’s real versus not.
He compared it to the early days of cars and the internet — initially confusing, with potential for great and terrible outcomes.
Over time, we figured out how to regulate it to make the new tech safe and accessible.
With YouTube recently adding tools to detect AI-generated versions of your videos, it's clear we're still in the early innings.
2) AI is way moving faster than we thought.
"The rate of change in the world and the economy from this, we haven't seen it yet. And just because we haven't seen it yet doesn't mean we can get complacent,” Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, said.
Translation: Buckle up.
The barrier to create content is about to be lower than ever. Typing ideas to generate fully-fledged films will soon be reality given how fast AI is moving.
So what's this mean for creators?
In a world where AI helps anyone create on steroids, brand and trust will be even more important. The creators who have an edge? Those who started before or during this AI boom period we're in now.
Think about it.
Today, you can watch a creator and get a sense of how much work they put into their video.
Sure, parts may be made with AI: images in their thumbnail, dubbing if they have, or editing with tools like OpusClip.
But fast forward 5 years.
It'll be harder to know who's truly behind the videos you're watching. What's "real" vs not as Brownlee said. Nevermind all the copying and cloning until regulations kick in.
So building trust will be that much harder. Another reason it's better to start creating content now.

The announcement was first teased on Logan's Instagram as "the next chapter."
Each Lunchly box comes with:

Quote: "I think this could be bigger than Prime," Paul said.
With Lunchly hitting stores at the end of this week, we'll see if the sales can match the hype especially with some expressing concern over its healthiness.
MrBeast replied: "I think giving them a higher quality version at roughly the same price is a net good imo and why we launched Lunchly. Also as we get economies of scale and can get things cheaper we will be only improving the product more."

2 个月I LOVE the glowing thumbnail. Glow factor is really my favorite way to show mystery on a cover but the multiple colors is not something I’ve seen that I can remember. It makes the little cube so futuristic imo. “We found it” is great support words. Just leaves everything pointing at one topic. Nice and simple and lets the glow be the interesting visual emotion. Very well done. I still support the Beast team and know their going to power through this rough patch. Their big goals are worth these bumps. But the Lunchly is a fart in their machine. I love team B, but specifically American parents are STRUGGLING with food quality. Small financially humble towns are the first to feel the problems with the world and lmtu grocery stores and school food is a huge tangible problem. I can’t buy “fresh produce” without grapes going bad after 2 days. I stopped buying ?? it has a weird texture. Kiddos are having health problems they didn’t have before the pandemic. I know multiple kids with lead exposure problems so that in particular is a sensative issue. I just don’t see any solution outside of supporting local food production and requiring schools buy from local farmers. Lunchly is on the wrong side of the farm fence.
