I was reading an interesting post of Shweta Bhardwaj, see link: https://www.dhirubhai.net/posts/predictionsforsuccess_inspirationalwords-tuesdaymotivation-activity-6706442336278319104-GUWj
Few days back I had read in speaking tree E T dated 27 Aug what people may say by Dada JP Vaswani . He states :
As social animals, we live in society, and, therefore, it is necessary that we observe certain norms and social obligations. There is nobody in the world who knows everything. And we can learn something or the other from everyone we meet. By all means, respect other people’s views and attitudes. Keep an open mind that is receptive to other people’s ideas — but do not become a slave to other people’s judgement.
Modern psychology emphasizes that an individual should develop a healthy self-image. Ask yourself: should your self-image be based on what others want, what others say, and what others expect? Should others set the standards for where and how you live, what car you drive and what clothes you wear? Such a life would, indeed, be intolerable to any thinking person.
Many people live under constant stress, trying to ‘keep up appearances’, as the saying goes. ‘What will the neighbors think if I walk to work?’ ‘What will my friends say if I don’t give a party?’ ‘What will society say if I don’t arrange a grand wedding reception for my daughter?’ and so on.
It is rhetorical question, ‘What will people say…?’ My answer is always this — don’t bother about what other people say. Let them say what they like. But do not let them upset you. What other people say does not really matter; it does not really count in the ultimate analysis. What really matters, what counts is what you do. Do your duty. Say to yourself again and again, ‘They say: what do they say? Let them say.’
New way : Kahne me kya harj hai ?
As recollect my childhood some conversation one of the important one was "How can we ask them Or should we say this ? shayad unhe bura lagega ( they will feel bad or they may not like it) . Over decades new thinking which seemed to have emerged "Kahne me Kya harj hai ?" ( there should not be any think wrong in saying so... or proposing so )
In my opinion this is the gross change in our social system as visible to me .

4 年Hi Vinod The 2 phrases made Ram leave Sita, politicians use words from phrase 1 to divide the people and a lot of people commit suicide thanks to phrase 1! There is absolutely no count of the suffering caused to millions who suffer in silence due to phrase 1! There will never be an end to it I guess
