My friend, Brett, is one big follower of Gary Vaynerchuk or famously known by the name GaryVee. It was Brett who introduced me to the videos of GaryVee. I have to say, GaryVee is one of a kind. His videos are as genuine and organic as it can be and the energy and passion he exudes in each video is quite contagious. I should admit, he is one of the main reasons behind giving me the courage to write these articles every night. Yes, even on those nights where I'm tired, grumpy or moody, I still make it a point to write an article or post, even something small, but of some value!
This evening I saw a repost of a post by GaryVee on LinkedIn, where he talks about gratitude. I was trying to find it so that I could tag it with my post, but I'll just go ahead without it anyways. So talking about this post, GaryVee goes on to say how he is constantly driven by gratitude. I'm right now not sure if that were his exact words in the post, but in essence he talked about the importance of gratitude and how it can help us push our lives happily forward.
I remember reading the book - 'the Magic' by Rhonda Byrne almost a decade ago. It is a highly recommended book for our lock down if you haven't already read it. This book and 'the Secret' are two good reads to help us put things in better perspective. What I especially liked about 'the Magic', was however how the author mentions this particular verse from the Bible:
"Whoever has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have , even what he has will be taken away from him." - Mathew 13:12.
And then she goes onto add a small, yet a powerful word to this verse that makes all the sense later. That tiny, yet strong word is none other than "gratitude"! I simply loved what she did to the bible verse, which then became:
"Whoever has gratitude, will be given more, and he/she will have an abundance. Whoever does not have gratitude, even what he/she has will be taken away from him."
I believe this is very true! Especially in times like this when people around us are all in despair, being grateful helps us to move ahead and even do amazing things. Like attracts like, and hence being grateful attracts more prosperity and abundance in ourselves as we begin to appreciate even the smallest treasures in our life. So let's take this moment to be thankful for every little and huge things we have in our lives, even our very own precious life.
Here are some of the things from a hundred and million of them, I'm grateful for at the moment. I am grateful that my family, friends and myself are all still healthy and able to function well, take care of each other and pray for the rest of the world. I'm grateful for a roof over my head, for the choice of food in my house, for my wonderful family and friends including my munchkin! I'm grateful I can still work well enough, I'm so far down in my studies, for the amazing University with its big support system and my supporting advisers and colleagues! I'm grateful for the support I've been receiving from this country I'm in, the strong but compassionate leaders leading the country and all the essential and non-essential workers helping to run this country effectively! I'm grateful to all the essential and non-essential workers all around the world, helping to run their countries and taking care of their people, including my family and friends! I'm happy to be a researcher and a science communicator, and to be a part of many wonderful communities including the Cheeky Scientists Association! And most of all, like GaryVee says, I'm grateful that I am alive today, to be a part of this great virtual revolution happening, to be able to post articles every night and connect with each one of you! I'm even grateful to each and every one of you reading this post right now! Thank you Jesus for all your blessings in my life, praise to you!!
What are you grateful about? And how do you feel about being grateful? Let me know!
Until then take care everyone! Stay happy, healthy and safe!
P.S. I'm grateful for Brett for having introduced me to GaryVee and Isaiah Hankel, thanks a lot mon ami, they will be the two best things that happened in my life moving forward :)
