Lock-down can never be a cure

Lock-down can never be a cure

Everybody is saying its #war like situation. It brings a hazy memory of 1971 war, when there was something like blackout use to happen. All lights would be switched off and we would cling to our parents out of sheer fear.

In this Corona war, the big difference is we can’t even cling to our mothers. Nor there is an army to fight on our behalf. All we have some elected buffoons who are making most of it by holding TV briefing and event management.

No war in history is won by being defensive and lock down isn’t going to help us. This #lock down would surely lead to a bigger economical and commercial crisis. If relief is not provided for,it would lead to a war of another kind: civil disobedience. Having tasted the success out of anti #CAA protests, the class of protesters would only grow. Sleeping hungry would only make sane people insane. There would be #mental health issues with many but as a country we have never acknowledge this problem.

We as society, have never acknowledge the fact that many die on Indian roads out of sheer negligence. Deaths by starvation, malnutrition or even lack of oxygen supplies in hospitals have no impact on our daily lives. In this country death by pollution means nothing as we keep on cutting more and more forests to make roads and buildings. An entire community can be burnt to death out of sheer rage, so talk of human value appears very elite.

This #lock-down is fancy terminology which we have imported from western world who are far more equipped than us. India is a country of extreme paradoxes. Most of junior level people working in my office would ideally get better facilities by staying in office premises than going back to their shanties where they pile up like stacks.

If this is a war then lets deal it with a war like attitude. India is hub of intellectuals. There is no urgency from any establishment to form a smart task force where industrialists, tech heads, war veterans, doctors, economist etc can all join!!  Why it could be done on war footing than regular moves. Why waste fourteen days in isolation than building huge facilities on war footing. In a small state like Delhi we can create one lac quarantine facilities with or without public support.

Why can’t we reduce our number of people on ground by keeping some guys back home and not let the economy crumble? Why can’t we follow an odd even kind of formula rather than letting hoarders have a field day.  Forget big medical support, there is no single online/offline store where you can get #hand sanitizer. Governments both center and states are in denial mode and as usual talking to penalizing the hoarders.

If we need to fight this #pandemic and come out stronger, we need to deal with it head on. We need #military like approach and not bureaucratic thoughts. It time we reset our priorities, let things roll.

Being a tropical country we may survive this outbreak and it seems that’s what leadership is hoping when it allocated thousand crores to remodel #Rajpath. Are we moving back to era of #Rajas, who now seems to come in different avatars!! It seems very real when you see #Maharaj & #Shivraj hugging each other, caring a little about #social distancing and working their way towards #social engineering.

Many may dispute my thoughts because as an elite, one can support the call for lock-downs but imagine people who won’t survive a week with no source. This #outbreak is an opportunity to fix things up after all we Indians have attained the habit of hitting the six on last balls. We need to employ more hands for #building hospitals, equipment and move people. The reverse is happening as of now. If we maintain the cash flow many would survive this. Instead of repeating mistakes like #Italy, #US & UK we need to learn from #Singapore and #Korea as how a systematic approach can help us win this battle.

Corona when said in Hindi means Karo na: do something.

Just as I was concluding, the latest information made me more worried than ever before. PM declared 21 day lock-down and is supported by entire political class. Just goes to prove how politicians have failed this country. How suddenly “A LIFE” has become important when they are the biggest proponents of daily blood bath.

A guy posted at nearby grocery shop puts it the best:It is worst than “#notebandi2” because this time we don’t even have a scope to earn for next 21 days.

End of the day all I can say Yeh desh phele bhi aur hamesha hi #Ram bharose chalti rahega.

GurPreet Singh brings out very valid issue. A country that has never valued human life has suddenly become aware of the human capital it possesses. Actually,? in its attempt to show pseudo sympathy and concern for the citizens, an opportunity to make millions seems to be overwhelming factor. Additionally,? there could be a hidden agenda behind the lockdown. Only time will tell. God bless us all!??
