Ever since the dawn of mankind, entrepreneurs have looked for the opportunity to trade with their neighbours to build their businesses. This has shaped our world and how our countries have been populated in the past. In the early days, it was the shipping ports, then as we grew more prosperous, mankind adapted the rivers and built canals to move the goods inland. Moving forward to this day and age we are now heavily reliant on motor transport; the main method of transporting goods around the UK is by road. Over the last 100 years as our population has increased and the demand for more consumables has grown across the mainland of the UK, the main arterial route has developed and split into two from which all distribution is moved around the country. The docks of 100 years ago have now been replaced with the distribution hubs of the modern era. This has meant that along these two routes, distribution hubs have popped up in strategically placed locations allowing large retail companies to deliver goods to local sites across the country.
These hubs determine where we are currently looking to grow our own network, after all we can only supply where there is demand. Staffco Direct’s latest growth focusses on two of these main hub locations; Birmingham (on the main M5 & M6 route) and Glasgow (where the M74 meets the M8). Both are heavily populated cities that have developed off the back of their strategically placed locations, and are key locations along the M1/M5/M6/M74 road spine linking North and South. From these two dedicated locations, we will be assisting clients with drivers when they need them. We are happy to work with clients seeking ad hoc, holiday and sickness cover right up to large users employing hundreds of drivers on a daily basis.
As we continue to grow these hubs will expand and new ones will open across the country; we are now looking at possibly opening new hubs in the South East and North West.
These new and expanding hubs have created new job vacancies within StaffCo. We are always looking to speak with people looking to further their career. Our new Head of Service Delivery based in Birmingham explains why he came to work for StaffCo Direct:
“One of the main reasons I moved to StaffCo was because when I went for my interview the staff, managers and directors made me feel at ease straight away. Everyone is friendly but hardworking, all working together to strengthen StaffCo Direct. It really feels like a family, you’re not just a number here. Your hard work and achievements get noticed and you feel appreciated and are rewarded very well for your efforts.”
